 Class Descriptions:

  • Adult Jiu Jitsu (gi) - These classes focus on techniques from the feet and on the ground to immobilize and control an attacker. These are called "gi" classes simply because that's the typical uniform. If you don't own a gi, we will loan you one to try out our school! The first hour of class covers warm-up and teaching  technique, and the second hour is for sparring. Newer students will be paired with experienced students to learn the fundamentals before sparring.

  • Adult Jiu Jitsu (No gi) - These classes cover the same material as the gi classes, but without the standard uniform. A t-shirt and shorts is typical attire.

  • Drilling - These classes focus on repeating techniques until they become second nature. Colossal believes that drilling is the foundation of becoming a skilled martial artist.

  • Youth Jiu Jitsu (gi) - These classes are for 6 to 13 year-olds (give us a call if your child is close to either end of the age spectrum). Our focus here is teaching children to keep themselves safe from bullies, and to give them the confidence and self-control to avoid unnecessary conflict.

  • Judo - This class focuses on the fundamentals of Judo. Students will learn to fall, throw, and pin as they work to apply minimum effort for maximum.
