Class Descriptions:
- Adult Jiu Jitsu (gi) - These classes focus on techniques from the feet and on the ground to immobilize and control an attacker. These are called "gi" classes simply because that's the typical uniform. If you don't own a gi, we will loan you one to try out our school! The first hour of class covers warm-up and teaching technique, and the second hour is for sparring. Newer students will be paired with experienced students to learn the fundamentals before sparring.
- Adult Jiu Jitsu (No gi) - These classes cover the same material as the gi classes, but without the standard uniform. A t-shirt and shorts is typical attire.
- Jiu Jitsu Fundamentals (gi) - These classes focus on the foundational movements, techniques, and concepts for jiu jitsu. You will work on the Pedro Sauer Association curriculum essentials that everyone needs to know.
- Noon Open Mats - These are one hour open mats during the day where adults can come in to drill or roll as their schedule allows.
- Kids Basic Jiu Jitsu - These classes are for 5 through 9 year-olds (give us a call if your child is close to either end of the age spectrum). Our focus here is teaching children age appropriate methods to keep themselves safe from bullies, and to give them the confidence and self-control to avoid unnecessary conflict. These are simple classes that focus on the basics for newer students.
- Kids Advanced Jiu Jitsu - These classes are for 5 through 9 year-olds (give us a call if your child is close to either end of the age spectrum). Our focus here is teaching children age appropriate methods to keep themselves safe from bullies, and to give them the confidence and self-control to avoid unnecessary conflict. These are more technical classes, and are invitation-only (based on individual student progress).
- Young Adult Jiu Jitsu - These classes are for 10 through 16 year-olds (give us a call if your child is close to either end of the age spectrum). Our focus here is teaching children age appropriate methods to keep themselves safe from bullies, and to give them the confidence and self-control to avoid unnecessary conflict.
